Terms of Service

By using this website or booking clinic services through this site or our messaging channels, you agree to these Terms of Service.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are issued by Oakville Wellness (頤安本草 · 伍厚臻中醫診所) (“the Clinic”, “we”) and govern your use of oakvilles.com (including Chinese pages) and related online enquiry and booking features. For health-information caveats see the Disclaimer; for personal data see the Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance

Browsing this site, submitting an enquiry or booking form, or contacting us by WhatsApp or phone to book an appointment means you have read, understood and agree to these Terms. If you book for someone else, you confirm you are authorised and that person is aware of the arrangement.

2. Services

The Clinic provides consultation and related Chinese medicine services by a Hong Kong registered practitioner (e.g. acupuncture, herbal prescriptions, moxibustion, cupping — subject to what we actually offer). Website descriptions are general; the care plan is determined after in-person assessment.

Online or messaging confirmation reserves a time slot only. A practitioner–patient relationship begins when you attend and complete registration/consultation. We may, based on clinical judgment, safety or capacity, suggest referral, rescheduling or decline unsuitable requests.

3. Booking, rescheduling and cancellation

Please book via WhatsApp, phone or the channels on this site. We will confirm within a reasonable time; slots are not guaranteed before confirmation.

To reschedule or cancel, notify us as early as possible (ideally at least one business day ahead) so we can offer the slot to others. Repeated no-shows or frequent short-notice cancellations may lead us to require a deposit or pause bookings.

During Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, Black Rainstorm Warning or other force majeure events, we may suspend service and help you reschedule; day-of notices prevail.

4. Fees and payment

Fee items and reference prices appear on the Process & fees page and may change. Actual charges depend on consultation content, acupuncture or other treatments, and herb type/quantity, as explained and billed on the day.

Unless otherwise agreed, fees are settled after each visit by methods we accept. Dispensed herbs and services already provided are generally non-refundable except where required by law or agreed in writing.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

(a) provide true, accurate and complete contact and health-related information, and promptly update material changes (e.g. pregnancy, allergies, surgery, new diagnoses or Western medication changes);
(b) arrive on time; lateness may shorten the visit or require rescheduling;
(c) follow clinic safety guidance and respect other patients and staff;
(d) not use clinic communications for harassment, defamation, spam or unlawful purposes.

6. Website use and intellectual property

Text, images, marks, layout and other content on this site belong to the Clinic or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, modify, republish, commercially exploit or create derivative works without prior written consent, except for personal non-commercial viewing and fair quotation with attribution.

You must not interfere with site operation, attempt unauthorised access, or scrape content at scale.

7. User submissions

If you submit comments or information via forms, messages or otherwise, you grant the Clinic a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that material as needed for clinic operations (e.g. booking, service improvement) in Hong Kong and elsewhere. You warrant that submissions do not infringe third-party rights and contain no unlawful or harmful content.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Website content is subject to the Disclaimer. To the extent permitted by law, the Clinic is not liable for loss arising from use of or reliance on this website, nor for outages or errors on third-party platforms (including WhatsApp, Google and social media).

Liability for clinical services is governed by applicable Hong Kong law and professional standards. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Privacy

Collection and use of personal data are governed by the Privacy Policy. Using this site indicates awareness of the practices described there.

10. Changes

We may revise these Terms and post the update date on this page. Continued use of the site or services after changes means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree, stop using the site and cancel any outstanding bookings.

11. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms, together with the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and the Clinic regarding website use, and supersede prior related statements (except clinical agreements and in-person explanations).

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts for disputes arising from these Terms.
